Mafraq Public Park Located in Mafraq, it occupies an area of approximately 280,000 square feet and is designed as a vibrant green space for recreation and community life. The park provides a welcoming environment for residents and visitors, offering a variety of activities including walking paths, playgrounds, sports areas, and open lawns for relaxation and gatherings.
The design encourages social interaction and movement through shaded seating areas, landscaped gardens, and flexible spaces for community events and festivals. By connecting nature with public life, Mafraq Public Park becomes an important urban destination where recreation, culture, and everyday social life come together.

Project Concept

The design concept of Mafraq Public Park in Mafraq is inspired by the idea of “Dopamine”, a chemical in the brain associated with happiness, motivation, and positive emotions. The concept translates this idea into architecture by creating a park that stimulates joy, relaxation, and social interaction through engaging spaces and natural elements.

The design connects the historical landscape of Mafraq with the modern urban environment, using pathways and spatial organization that respond to the surrounding street network and green areas. Curved circulation routes and gathering nodes represent the flow of dopamine, guiding visitors naturally through different zones of the park.

Architectural elements such as arches and locally inspired forms reflect the historical character of the city, while modern materials introduce a contemporary identity. The park’s trails and open spaces link the site with its surroundings, encouraging movement, exploration, and interaction.

Through this concept, the park becomes more than a recreational space, it becomes an environment that enhances well-being, strengthens the connection between people and place, and celebrates the cultural and urban identity of Mafraq.

MASTER PLAN ANALYSIS

The site plan of Mafraq Public Park in Mafraq is organized around a central landmark building with pathways connecting different activity zones. The park includes plazas, gardens, playgrounds, cafés, seating areas, and sports facilities such as a football field.

These spaces are linked through shaded pedestrian paths, supporting a 15-minute city concept where residents can easily access recreation and social spaces within a walkable environment.
